Forging an extreme home-style cuisine experience: An interview with the New York-based noodle restaurant Noodlecraft

A busy, fast-paced lifestyle has become mainstream in modern society, and it is thus arguably a luxury when we occasionally have the chance to stop and set our hearts free in pleasant conversations. There are few places that tolerate such casualness and stops in urban areas. Nonetheless, as a fast food restaurant seemingly operating in an “eat and leave” fashion, Noodlecraft has shattered traditional thinking and made itself an attractive location where local residents come to relax and enjoy themselves.  With a cafe-like vast and cozy space, a fascinating environment with reminiscent decorations, irresistible food and considerate services, the restaurant allows diners to enjoy their palatable noodles in a slow, leisurely and peaceful way.

Inclusive cuisine art

Noodlecraft is an inclusive eating place integrating both tradition and modernity from Asian regions.  Offering the most representative classic noodles from all over Asia, the restaurant aims to build itself into an inclusive noodle shop that naturally showcases to the largest extent various noodle cuisine cultures.

Maintaining a strict selection of high-quality, fresh ingredients, Noodlecraft offers classic dishes interpreted in a modern way to catch the fancy of local diners.

The most popular Classic Lan Zhou Beef Noodle Soup is made of quality and fresh beef shank and springy, chewy noodles which absorb the full-bodied soup base carefully prepared for hours. Take a sip and you will instantly perceive the fragrant and refreshing sensation teeming with harmonious and irresistible flavors.

Braised Beef Noodle Soup, on the other hand, is prepared according to the most authentic Cantonese recipe: with no excess seasonings, only refreshing and sweet carrots and Chinese cabbage are used as complementary ingredients. The mellow soup that offers lingering fragrance and the beef that tastes tender and well-flavored produce an amazing richness of taste.

Singaporean Laksa, which originated from Singapore and Malaysia, is known as the most complicated noodles in the world. After boiled for more than one hour, the broth base carefully made of more than a dozen ingredients which collectively produce a variety of flavors is a concentration of sour, sweet, salty, spicy and fresh tastes around the noodles, creating an unforgettable dining experience.

A magnanimous mindset

In a highly competitive market, the restaurant refuses to narrow its goal towards fame and profit. Instead, operators of the restaurant have maintained an unperturbed mentality to think from diners’ perspectives and build a Utopian living space for local residents. The result of such a commitment is a place where guests are able to heartily enjoy good cuisine, pleasant conversations and free thinking; in a veritable way, the restaurant has successfully won the hearts of countless diners with good cuisine and sincerity.
