The unique flavor that “cures”

From a street-side buffet cart to an official restaurant, Doris spent ten years to grow her business by making the best of the clear, light, fresh and mellow flavors of Taiwanese dishes.

As an authentic Taiwanese snack bar, A-Pou's Taste offers a wide range of classic and authentic snacks and staples. All dishes are made of fresh ingredients with no artificial condiments like MSG. Providing diners with delicious and healthy cuisine has been a principle upheld by the restaurant.

The signature Handmade Pan Fried Dumplings, which have been popular since the buffet chart era, are offered in a wide variety and feature golden crispy skins, soft and chewy wrappers and fragrant and delicious stuffings.

The Beef Noodle Soup, made of high-quality steak beef adapted to local preferences and featuring fresh and mellow broth and chewy noodles, is so luring that one may find it hard not to eat it all at once.

The Braised Pork Rice, a classic Taiwanese staple, offers a large, thick block of mellow braised pork tasting fat but not greasy along with an appropriate combination of sweet and salty flavors; lay the meat, as well as the meat sauce, on top of a bowl of properly steamed rice and you will get a great treat for your hungry stomach.

She treats diners like her own relatives with sincerity and passion. One would automatically feel relaxed when chatting with her and enjoying homelike dining experience. Doris always believes that sincerity begets sincerity, which is sufficiently proven by the endless streams of guests.

 

An “easy-going” mentality forged in ups and downs

Doris, who has stayed in the U.S. for more than 40 years, has developed an optimistic, accommodative and unyielding spirit from countless ups and downs in her life. At her sixties, Doris jokingly says that everyday is a God-given gift for her and she is quite unworried about the status of her business, because all she wants is to satisfy her guests.  It is also such an easy-going mentality that allows the restaurant to dedicate itself to making the best food that pleases the entire diner and media circles in New York and transforms it into a benchmark in local Chinese restaurants.
