Hot pot, a classic symbol of Sichuan culture, has a firm foundation in the minds of those who love it. The operator of Chengdu Memory is even more eager to introduce the hot pot culture to the world so as carry forward and inherit this classic Chinese food culture.


Mrs. Wu is from Chengdu. Thus, influenced by her, the owner Mr.Wu likes Sichuan cuisine very much. At first, he found someone to open a Sichuan restaurant for more than a year, so he gained experience. He and his wife then opened Chengdu Memory in Seattle on June 20, 2019. They spent up to half a year to select the address, and finally set the address at Chinatown, where the traffic is huge and the night market is quite crowded. Chinatown is very suitable for catering operations.

The decoration of Chengdu Memory is nostalgic style with antique flavour, which is completely decorated in accordance with the style of traditional Chengdu taste. The purpose is to allow the customers to fully experience the taste of traditional Chengdu taste when having dinner.

Chengdu Memory’s main hotpot is hotpot condiment with butter, mushroom soup and other special features. It has been praised and recognized by many guests. This is why Mr. Wu wholeheartedly wants to make the hotpot more professional, authentic and traditional. Chengdu Memory’s fresh hotpot ingredients are quite diversified. They extremely and comprehensively take into account all the customers’ preferences. The specialty dish is saute beef with cayenne pepper. The meat is tender. The fresh beef is brownish red in color and has a spicy and delicious taste. The fresh pork used in crispy pork slice are fat and thin fit. After marinating, the meat is fried until the color becomes golden and crispy and crispy. This dish is also an essential yummy snack on the dining table. Mr. Wu usually pays great attention to the nutritional matching of food, so the dishes recommended to guests are authentic Chengdu hot pot dishes.


The team is composed of about 30 employees, which has a strict and complete set of rules and regulations. In terms of hygiene, all the employees will be responsible for cleaning every day, and there is also sweep-up activity once a week, and the manager will be responsible for checking and acceptance. The corresponding assessments will be arranged every month, and several “outstanding employees” will be given a certain reward. In terms of the employees, they will be strictly trained and inspected before going to work, and they will not work until they are qualified.

The owner of Chengdu Memory considers the tastes of customers as the starting point of priority, which has been working tirelessly to allow ethnic Chinese in the foreign land to taste authentic Sichuan hot pot. Mr Wu as well as his wife are even more eager to expand the influence of hot pot culture in Seattle and the surrounding areas and to get more customers’ love.

Mr. Wu is satisfied with Chengdu Memory's current operating conditions, but he believes that some details still need to be improved. In the future, he plans to make the "Chengdu Memory" brand into a chain store model. Once the time is ripe, he will start to do it.
