In famous tourist resort—White Rock of Vancouver, there is a Chinese restaurant praised by many Chinese, which is CCTV Chinese Restaurant created by Chinese Shi Lilong from Tsingtao, China.

 

Shi Lilong, who came from Tsingtao of China, is both owner and chef of the restaurant. Before coming to Canada, he has studied in Chinese well-known cook technical school, and learned theory knowledge of cook systematically, summed up experiences in practice earnestly, knew fully about eight dishes of China, especially cooking of Shandong dishes. In addition, he knows well about carving art and combines it with cooking, thus he always makes artistic and delicious dishes to cater to taste of customers. Moreover, he was a famous cook when he was still in mainland of China. He has participated in many cooking competitions and won awards. And he also undertook restaurant work in some well-known restaurants, accumulating rich cooking experiences.

 

As Mr. Shi Lilong comes from Tsingtao of China, just like other people who grow up by the sea, he has a deep emotion to sea. Thus, after coming to Canada, he took over this restaurant from Russian after investigation as it is near the sea here and is tourist resort between Canada and America. Regardless of strong objection of relatives and friends, he prevailed over all dissenting views to choose to open Chinese restaurant in White Rock, and named it CCTV Chinese Restaurant. Some people who do not know may think it’s a restaurant opened by China Central Television, but actually CCTV stands for China, Canada, Tsingtao and Vancouver, which means a restaurant opened in Vancouver of Canada by a Chinese from Tsingtao of China. Such a creative name attracted many customers. And CCTV Chinese Restaurant made its name quickly and became restaurant with the best reputation in surrounding regions.

 

CCTV Chinese Restaurant was opened in September of 2013, with 80 seats and no take-away service. Owner Shi Lilong has 7 employees in total. The restaurant makes authentic Shandong dishes mainly and customers are mainly Chinese. Owner Shi Lilong not only acts as the owner, but also cooks. He cares about taste of the dishes and pays much attention to nutrition of every food materials, to guarantee nutritious value. Besides, he cares much about health of dishes and in October of 2015, he obtained Healthy Dish Certificate issued by international food healthy dish evaluation organization Healthy Dining. According to statistics, there are no more than 50 restaurants with such certificate in Canada. Also, Owner Shi Lilong has a unique technique that he can mix carving with every dish, making it like a phoenix for a time and a mushroom for another. All these shapes add artistry of dish. Being widely spread, business of CCTV Chinese Restaurant gets more and more thriving. Many celebrities were attracted here by its reputation, such as Zhang Guoli, Deng Jie, and Chen Baoguo etc., who usually come to the restaurant.

 

 

Employee management is related to development of restaurant closely. As an experienced man, Owner Shi Lilong sticks to treating employees with all sincerity and human oriented, and promotes humanized employee management system positively. In daily life, he shares happiness and woe with employees, eats and works with them, and teaches them cooking skills. He treats them equally, never beats or scolds them, makes them feel that they belong to this restaurant, and work hard for the development of this restaurant heart and soul.

 

 

At present, business of CCTV Chinese Restaurant gets better and better. In the future, Owner Shi Lilong plans to train another batch of excellent employees again and select a good place in favorable area of Vancouver for branch. Let Shandong dish enter into Vancouver and realize his dream of developing Chinese food in Canada.
